nowadays which one, tekin or MMM combo? - 08.22.2009, 07:10 PM

I need a combo for my e-maxx and i also will use it in the winter in my future buggy, so i wanna know which one is the most reliable since the mmm had lot of issues on the past and the tekin already have issues on the shaft motor but this have been fixed by tekin already, so any other issues on the tekin combos are known, because i like most the tekin i will like to know everything about it.
Thanks for all and greetings.

Depending whom you ask, either system has pro's and con's. I don't see how either combo would be a wrong choice since customer service for both products is #1.

Its a bit of a bias answer anyway you get it. You want a pie chart of failure rates lol Im partial to castle because they have a longer warranty. 1 year opposed to 90 days as I understand it. its a chat thread If im wrong correct me. Castle also doesn't pull the "you drove it under the wrong specs we wont repair it " crap even if out of warranty $50 and you get a new or refurbed one no matter what retarded mistake you make. Tekin sure looks nicer but NOT FACT JMO ive seen too many posts about their motor cans falling apart

I haven't heard anything bad about the Tekin "cans" but the early magnets were coming loose from the rotors. Tekin was giving no fuss free rotor replacments when this happens. My Tekin 1700kv buggy motor is going strong running on a MMM, just with the ESC would quit eating fans. I kinda wondered if a Neu rotor would fit into a Tekin can.

I no longer even run the fan in my MMM w/ my 1900 kv motor. It's not necessary. For bashing, you can't go wrong with either motor, tekin or castle but i would definately with the MMM esc because of the bullets.

On 5/6s the Tekin, MMM speedies like to fry on high voltage (even now)
On 4s or below, the MMM

MMM is cheaper and has a longer warranty, Tekin has sensored motors. I've abused the heck out of my MMM in my Muggy on 4s and 6s and it is still going strong. I'm overgeared right now and even on 6s it doesn't mind (gets hot, but that's to be expected).

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

Thanks for the replys guys, is hard to decide!! i like tekin because it have sensors and makes the car really smooth on accelerations or i feel that in 1/10 scale with my novak gtb, also got a mamba max and i like most the novak for smoothnes. I just wanna know if all the problems of the tekins motors are fixed, since im from spain its a shit to wait two weeks for a new shaft and if there is any problem in the can and i need to send the motor back to usa will be very expensive.
Maybe i nned to get both hehehehe
Thanks for all, waitting for more pros and contras
