I plan on getting alloy gearbox cases when i get round to it. I've always had them on my more powerful cars and it always makes a big difference whether it be from adding weight in the right place or simply not flexing with big power.

Yeah, those wires are extreme. Then again, if those C rates are accurate you could be looking at a pack flowing 150 amps constant and 200 peak so I'd rather have them on there than not.

You should be plenty fine with that setup as far as amps and such, run it and let us know the results.
I'm sure the pack will be more than adequate, the EZ-run is a pretty proven esc these days and I'm within the operating range so I'm not worried about that. As you pointed out, I'm pretty sure the truck will be the first to give out, if the $28 motor doesn't first. So that's what I'm more worried about.

if that motor is a feigao clone, (which it is) it is actually a 3200kv motor. even on 3s, it will still spin at 35,520rpm@11.1V. i wouldn't push the 4s lipo on that motor if i were you. i would use the 2200kv KD 36-60 motor for 4s.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

E-sav I like your taste in trucks.
FWIW my preferred motor in my street slash is an hv6.5 on 4s w/ 13/54 gearing. It runs much cooler then the vxl or 8l motors did on 3s.

Let us know how your setup works out.

A-ha! The man who built the Super Street Concept Slash.

I based my on-road truck on seeing the pics of yours. That thing was sweet. I reckon we had the two meanest looking Slashs. Maybe one on Flat irons with a Desert Rat shell would pip them, but it'd be close.

I just want to reiterate, the motor is expendable, I don't really mind what happens to it. I will be finding a far higher quality motor to go in it as soon as I get round to it. If it weren't for Medusa pulling out of RC it would have a 3100-60 v2 in it already. Obviously I don't want it to damage the speed control in it through the rotor demagging so I will be monitoring temps very closely. My friend runs one of these motors in a 4.5 kilo E-savage on 4s, so it should be ok in a Slash.

Done! Last minute change of heart on the motor. It's just not overkill unless it's an XL. Power is... ample.

Little vid of it in action. Can't open it up though, don't really reach over 1/2 throttle.
