Can you please please more specific about what Toy truck you started with ?
Thanks.
Are you referring to what truck the chevy body came from? If so, it's a Jesse James West Coast Choppers Chevy Silverado. I'm not sure exactly who makes it.
EDIT: I didn't really start with any truck in particular. Just knew I wanted something big. So I got that body first, got the axles because I knew they would hold up to some punishment then started fitting everything together after that.
Some serious brushed power there!! Looks great! Clean build.
As for the tranny, the 3905 tranny is much stronger and will handle the power better than the 3906 tranny. If you were going to make the plates, I would definitely do the swap.

Is there anything that needs to be done to the 3905 to beef it up or are they pretty stout stock?
I hope you guys like pics I didn't bring the camera with the video... I probably won't take any video until I get the trans sorted out. No one enjoys hearing that noise.
Took it to the rocks to see how it would do. The transmission complained quite a bit but other than that it had plenty of power with the current gearing and the suspension seems pretty stable. Center of gravity was a lot better than I thought. I'm not running any foams at all in the tires. Sometimes it's ok and other times it's not, mainly when there is a heavy load on one tire. I think I'm going to have to modify the stock foams and put them back in. Anyone know of 3.2" beadlock wheels with 17mm hexes? Full offset preferred. There weren't to many places it wouldn't go. No real challenging climbs.
Then it was over to the baseball field for some low traction high speed testing! They didn't mind me running for a few minutes.
You can definitely see the need for foams when running wide open.
hi all... half offset is half an inch wider i.e the rim sticks out half inch more per side and gives you a more stable wider truck, maximizer bead locks are good strong rims ive now had 2 sets and very pleased with them, nice build
