I browsed the manual (PDF) of the savage 5T to get an idea on how hpi mounted a 5T tire (24mm hex) on a savage axle.

The interesting part is that you can run wheels with 17mm hexes and 24mm hexes (hpi even includes 2 tire sets: 5T and Savage XL). To achieve this you have to switch between 2 different wheel axle shafts.

HPI Part Numbers (Main parts needed to mount wheels with 24mm hex):
. 38305 Wheel Axle Shaft 8x11x47mm
. 38306 Wheel Hub 24mm
. 38308 Wheel Nut M18x24mm

Some little updates:

I did made a strong center alluminum CVD, 4 steel hex adaptors and I mounted original HPI baja shocks because with new huge baja wheels the other shocks were too short and does not work good.

Now the RTR weight is 7,9 kg (with 2 x zippy 3s 5000)
