And so it begins.. - 08.21.2009, 12:14 PM

Here is my entry into the (soon to be) budget mini project contest..

I found a mini T off of the rc-tech donation thread. and then started planning..

What i came up with is to be one BAMF..

6x4, dual brushless, 6s powered, 4wd short course truck...

I plan on using 2 rear assemblies from the losi mini's, i got a mini slider roller today.

Setup entails 2 kd 20-40 2400kv motors, 2 plane esc's (who needs brakes) and 2 3s 1050mah lipos.

Running 12mm wheel adapters and Vxl slash 1/16th scale wheels and tires.

all based around a 7075 aluminum chassis.

Now for the starter pic. here is the mini slider i picked up for $40

Came with the following all NIP
2 complete sets of a-arms
front bulk head and kick plate
Front pivot block set
Complete F/r hub carrier set
Front and rear shock towers
4 Spur gears
Front and rear bumper set
Gear differential
Set of 14 Ball cups
Camber and steering links
A complete screw ki
Motor brushes and springs
2 Rebuildable ball bearing 280 motors
Set of 4 pinions
Gear cover
Plastic shock components
3 body sets
Silver front springs
and a new 1100mah 6cell pack

thats alot of stuff for 40 bucks

Stay tuned.

That would be 6x4 then...

I thinks a 11,000mah 6s battery is going to be a bit big..

sorry i need the 11k maxamps to keep up with the rediculous amp draw of my 280 motor

and with that voltage drop its only like 8v... so it will be fine

Nice but I'd worry about the tires hitting each other from ballooning...

Ok then. it looks pretty cool, but how do you plan to link the 2 trannys? Are you going to remove them, get some 1/18 diffs, an outrunner and link them, like direct drive? That's what i'd do.

its 18th scale. 8th scale diffs are bigger and heavier then the motors...

AS of now it has ball studs attached to both and small turnbuckles keeping the second rear assembly in check.(not shown)

Its got dual MIP Ball diffs and 280 motors
