Tekin T8 or Neu 1515 in truggy??? - 09.07.2009, 08:32 PM

Here's the thread on my MBX5-T - i figure there's probably a lil more traffic through this section, so posted this Q here...

My MBX5-T Conversion

I'm stuck on this one, and really wanna get this motor ordered... I gotta stop thinking, it's doing my head in... Now I am not sure on the motor I should run...
I have 2 motors in mind, but am leaning towards the tekin...

-Tekin T8 2000kv truggy motor
-Neu 1515 2D/F

Is the neu really THAT much better??? Wouldn't mind saving some dollars here, (~USD$60 is a good saving to make!) but I really really need as much runtime as I can get, but they are close enough on paper for me not to be able to figure it out...

I need advice... Which motor do I go for on 4S, the tekin or the neu??

Tekin's products are excellent quality....so in saying that, the T8 2000kv would be my choice or possibly a ccneu 2200kv. In my mbx-5T conversion, I will be running the 2200kvccneu on 5s

1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

jeez louise! 52 views and only one reply!

Well - i'm going with the RX8/2000kv Truggy combo... I've found one 2nd hand in Australia, only used for about 8 battery packs, and it comes boxed with manual, deans plug, castle 6mm HV gold connectors on motor to speedo and a brand new spare set of motor bearings, and i got a great price on it =)

I'll update this thread when i get it all running and fill in on runtimes etc...

I have 3 NEU's and 5 Castle Neus and haven't ben let down yet motor wise. I will condsider a Tekin for my next build just to see what the hype is about. I've read and found little info on negative feedback, yes they had issues but Tekin seems to have it nipped.

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.
