How much you need mAh for one race? - 09.19.2009, 03:46 PM

If this has been discussed before, link me there.

How much you need mAh in one 45min or 10min race with truggy??
I assume there must be atleast one battery swap in 45min race.
4S is in rules, so mAh with 4S lipos.
Motor used would be "truggy" spec, like Tekins truggy motor.

I want my truggy as light as possible, so this info is in big role.

that setup would probably use about 350-450mah/min as a rough estimate.

If you can make 45 minutes on one battery then good for you, but the extra weight will cause the motor to run hotter, bringing your runtime even lower.

5000mah packs seem to be a good balance between run time and weight.

45 minute mains you would probably need 3 battery swaps

Neu 1415 on 5S - under 350mah per minute.

example from todays race - My truck put ~2000mah into G3 hyperions after ~7minutes
fellow racers with tekin and G3 hyperions - ~2400mah

and now way i did drive slow as i won today's race :)

with 4S in will be 20%more

For longer mains higher voltage will be better 5S or even 6S to keep everything cooler.

it is crazy to put BL system under stress of 45minute mains.

10-12 minutes are enough to show who's the better driver and you can make it with 5000mah packs

Well, i want motor that is sensored, to get best precision.
In 10mins i dont want to change battery, well that would be what im running in race.
So 350-450mAh in minute, and i would need 4000mAh minimum, 5000mAh would get me to finish line.
