True, true, though it depends on your mindset really- killing comes easier to some than it does to others, and the method also matters a lot too:

Hand to hand combat is something quite different to just pulling a trigger...

Mindset changes with time. What you may be ok with today you might not next week. I don't know if you have ever seen suicide rates from the armed services that see active duty but it's there. I do like that insperational poster. I got that one and a bunch of others in an email the other day.

Common courtesy only goes so far.
If some dumb sumbitch is gonna creep into my house, his ass is grass !
Only thing he's going to hear is a round being chambered and me softly saying, Bye Bye .
My thing is to warn them right before you take them out so that they will have a second or so to be scared sh**less right before they kill over, just so he will know what it is like to be the other party.

You never shoot to wound you shoot to kill no other reason to pull a gun you don't give warnings you don't even know how many people are in the house.

What if you were to ask this person to leave and they do and they go down a few houses and end up killing everyone in the house in their sleep. You never know what someone is capable of you don't know what they are going to do next.

My goodness this idiot (in the original article) was out of state jail on Saturday and it was how long before he broke into this guys house and stole 2 laptops and a gamebox. Was it Monday just 1 full day later (Allegedly), then he returned. This kid had a sword and the guy lunged at him, do you think it would have been any different if he had a gun? I doubt it.

We had a case here in Houston and I don't remember the exact details, but The neighbor saw 2 guys breaking into the house next door. He was waiting on the phone with 911 and told the operator since the police weren’t going to get there in time he was going out to stop them. He took his shotgun outside and told the guys to get down, they wouldn’t and I think one of them lunged at the guy with the shotgun. Both suspects were killed because they made threatening moves. There was a big uproar about this case, but it had nothing to do with what these guys were doing. The guy wasn't charged but paid for protecting his neighbor’s house in the ensuing flap over these 2 creeps. Had to get a lawyer and I am sure it cost him a pretty penny dealing with it. Here in Texas you have a right to defend yourself, others and property and that's how it should be.

I feel sorry for people in other countries that have to deal with not having the right to protect ones self. Some of you will say just call the cops, well the cops just can't beam over and catch this person and response times are anywhere from a few minutes to over 30. Things happen in the blink of an eye and everyone should have the right to protect themselves and their property. Some may say "it's just property you can always replace it." What if it's your sole means of transportation to get to work? "You might say take a bus." Doesn't work like that when you get 25 miles outside the city, besides you take a bus!

I am not directing this at anyone in particular just saying what I have heard from others that think guns are evil and all that crap. Gun laws are crap they don't stop or deter crime. It's already against the law to break into someone’s house but it happens all the time, criminals it seems these days have all the rights and they don't follow the law so no matter what happens they will always have guns themselves, you have to protect your own.

After something like this happens you will always second guess yourself, what if I did this, what if I did that. What if my Daughter sees all the blood, what about my Wife? It’s a traumatic experience and once you pull that trigger there is nothing you can do to bring that bullet back, nothing in this world.

Jeff
Also what i meant by not shooting no more times than needed is that if after i shoot them in both knees and both arms, they may bleed to death before you have to waste that high-dollar last round on there sorry ass to finish them off.

honestly that article doesnt say whether the burglar was armed with any weapon and attacking someone who has a sword is very unlikely unless your completely mental.

So we have two scenarios they either lied about the burglar attacking someone with a sword or the bloke was a mental.

If the guy was a mental then is it right to execute someone just because there currently lacking sanity and are struggling to tell right from wrong and are also unlikely to obay being told to leave.

Honestly i think a sword is probably the worst weapon to have when trying to defend yourself without killing someone especially if there not skilled in using it.

So the moral of the story is if you don't want someone's death on your conscience don't go and confront a possible mental burglar with a sword or machete take a baseball bat instead.

Because in reality if the burglar has a gun and you turn up with a sword
it would end up like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DzcOCyHDqc

and if he didn't have a gun unless you were retarded you should be able to beat on his ass with a baseball bat without killing or maiming him.

It does'nt matter if the burglar was armed or not . The guy broke into someone's house & payed the price for his actions. Plus the burglar was not the one with the sword . The person lining in the house used the sword on the burglar .
