does anyone use Virtual PC to load/update castle's software? - 09.22.2009, 11:05 AM

i have a mac, and installed virtual PC with windows XP home. the problem is USB connectivity with castle link. i plug it into any USB slot (USB cable is plugged into the castle link) and all the lights turn on. yet castle link software doesn't recognize anything is plugged in. when i click on USB settings, castle link is one of the options to click to activate... yet when i click 'ok' with it checked, it 'unchecks' it. meaning, when i go back in, castle link is unchecked yet again.

i'm quite confused. and frustrated. any help would be vastly appreciated. (didn't want to put this in castle's section as it's not so much a problem with the software - it's with virtual PC)

Personally I suggest using Boot Camp and running Windows natively on your Mac. Running it through emulation like you are doing will be slower and more likely to have errors.

if you do not have a intel-based mac, VMware Fusion and Parallels Desktop and boot camp will not run. They require an intel-based mac.

An application called Darwine is a work in progress, to port WINE to OSX/ppc macs. The last time I used it, i found that it would work excellently, although it was a little tricky to set up at first.

You can find info and downloads here:

not a problem, If you happen to have an iChat account, you could share your screen with me and I'd be able to walk you through everything(provided the internet gods will let such a fantastic feature work)
