I love my medusa but they are a plane motor. Not really built for car use. Hopefully mikes clamp holds them together enough when it surfaces that this won't happen anymore.

Thats an idea chris.. replace the shaft and put a heatsink clamp on it... Better than no motor I suppose.

With this hobby, it wouldn't be hard for me to tear anything up in 2 years. LOL
I am sure the 2 yr warranty was not the best idea...

I had a few medusa motors and just did not get the great results that I had hoped for. I guess I tried to compare them to the neu motors I have, and they came up short. The neus are more expensive but not by much. I bought both of my 1521 1y motors for 180, and the comparable 80 mm medusa was not much less. Plus you can get the cc 2200 1515 motor for 110-130 all the time, so not much benefit buying the 70mm motors from medusa either, unless you really want a lower kv. And if you race, the tekin motors are a better bet for kv choice, or just get a real neu.

The medusa were designed for airplane use, and really are not sturdy enough to be used in land vehicle that see hard action!

I can see the 50-60mm motors doing well in the smaller 4wd vehicles and pedes/rustlers. Other than that the prices were just too much for what you got.

I am getting tired of the temp issues and crappy runtimes with this high Kv low voltage stuff, fixing that motor isn't worth waiting around for RCM-Mike to finish the heatsink clamp for the Medusas IMO. I am replacing the motor with a Tekin 1550Kv truggy motor or a Neu in a Kv range close to that and going with 6S.
