Pinion grub screw size? - 10.04.2009, 03:10 PM

Hi chaps,
I've got a couple of the Rc-Monster 5mm Mod1 pinions, but I'm not sure on the grub screw size? I tried to test with a couple of screws and I think they are 4mm, but I didn't want to ruin the thread on the gear.
Thanks,
Matt

It should be 4mm thread. All of my RCM pinions are.

On this subject, does anyone have a good online source for these in hardened steel? I have seen them in steel that is black-oxide coated. Not sure if that is hardened or not.

Hmm, can't say I've ever seen "hardened" set screws.

The pinions should have had the M4 set screws installed already? :)

Not so much an upgrade, but my rubbish allen keys stripped the stock set screw, which I replaced with a stainless one which stripped even faster. Shame I can only find the stainless ones over here :/
