Pinion grub screw size? -

Hi chaps,
I've got a couple of the Rc-Monster 5mm Mod1 pinions, but I'm not sure on the grub screw size? I tried to test with a couple of screws and I think they are 4mm, but I didn't want to ruin the thread on the gear. Thanks, Matt |

It should be 4mm thread. All of my RCM pinions are.

On this subject, does anyone have a good online source for these in hardened steel? I have seen them in steel that is black-oxide coated. Not sure if that is hardened or not.

Hmm, can't say I've ever seen "hardened" set screws.

Not so much an upgrade, but my rubbish allen keys stripped the stock set screw, which I replaced with a stainless one which stripped even faster. Shame I can only find the stainless ones over here :/
