I've been running the Novak HV in the on center position up top and the result has been partially stripped spur gears. I've got a 9L on the way and I plan on lowering it down with the controller on the opposite side. At first I assumed that by putting the motor on center I would get better balance, but I don't think you gain enough to make it worth the headache of stripping spur gears on hard landings.
