Mine was great when run in sensored mode. I had to take the fan off to run it in my rb5 buggy but it ran cool. I really liked that you could adjust the bec voltage. Came in handy when I moved the esc over to my sc10 because I was still running the stock servo.
No problems when running with the high turn brushless motors (17.5,13.5,10.5) were cogging can be a problem. The cheat feature also come in very handy cause in these spec class I really am looking to get all the power possible.
Only problem I had was after the testing I put it in my 8th scale. On 6s the bec would overheat before the pack would dump. Shouldn't be a problem now since they have updated the bec unit.
Should be great for light weight buggy setups. Only things I didn't like were that you cant really replace the wires and you really need the PC to setup. For the price I think its a great deal though.
I think this will probably end up going in the new traxxas 4x4 slash.

These are what I ran. Amps were peak if I remember correctly. It's been a while.
Hacker C50 Maxx 14.4 110.90A
Hacker C50 6L 148.88A
LRP X10 4star 120.78A

LRP X12 3T 99.32A
Orion 2.5T Forgot to log it.
Tekno Neu 1515 1.5D 138.88A
With the 2.5T motor there was more cogging then the mamba max.(Mamba Max has 4 additional caps installed though)

Mine has run with a novak 17.5, novak 13.5, novak 10.5, lrp and tekin 9.5's. Then in my 8th scale with a losi 1300kv. The esc will either end up in my hyper 9e with the tekin 1400kv motor on 6s or in the new traxxas 4x4 slash with a 3s setup.

With the MM Pro capable of handling these kind of figures ampwise, would it be suitable in an E maxx on 6s?
Geared for 35-40mph. Geared conservatively with let's say a 1500kv 4 pole motor?
I love it's features! I want one badly.
The small footprint and size of this esc opens up new setup options.

I believe it would be able to do it. I compare MMpro to the Quark 80B.

Actually, the Quark 125B is a better comparison since it has the same performance characteristics as the regular MM current-wise. Early batches of the MM had the same FET part and quantity as the 125B.

Hmmm, so i wonder if the mmpro will really like 6s... I know the 125b was not fond of 6s fully peaked. The new fet for the MMP is different, i wonder if it is better? This should be a great 5-6s esc for a light 8th buggy.

It wasn't an FET thing on the Quark that caused it not to "like" 6s. IIRC, the MMM uses the same 4108N FETs (just more of them), and it arms fine. Must have been some other component(s) or software/firmware that caused it.

Dunno man. The "feel" I got of the MMpro was just like how the 80B behaved. I still have one first gen MM that I use and it doesn't behave like my 125B. Hardware might be the same but software sure plays a role in how the ESC behaves.

Not sure when they will arrive, but we have them on order and should have them around the same time as anyone/everyone else. I will post when I have some tracking. :)

So, for a guy running 4S 1/8 buggy with say a Tekin 1900Kv motor, is this unit going to be suitable?

As long as the buggy is lighter and gearing is 30-35mph, it should be fine.

Buggies a Hyper 9E. would be using a Tekin 1900Kv motor with this geared in the low 40mph since that is common gearing for the tracks I run at.
