My 1st BL was a Stampede rtr after my neighbor (When I moved to Chicago) came over with his big ass Clod maxx. ( I was racing 1/5 gas cars in NY) I was dissapointed with the pede and bought a brushed 3905 emaxx, then met Suicide Neil and TDC57 on Fagxxas site and dropped in a vtwinn with max amps batterys..( we all started somewhere) after that I met all you RCM dorks and 50,000 pages of reading and $10g later ... I will smoke all you FOO's
rustler vxl. i got it used for $240 at my lhs the day after christmas because the original owner thought it would 70mph on a 6s nicd pack and only drove it once. this was almost 2 years ago.
They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
My first brushless truck was a full FLM stampede with a Novak GTB4.5r on various NiMH 4200 and 3800 packs. Tough as nails, but batteries were frying every other run, and I didn't have the greatest experience with the Novak system either.
my first brushless was recently with a trinity duo2 13.5 in my yokomo bd4.i had a novak gtb and yeah racing 3200mah 20c lipos.touring car driving was fun,esp with the duo2.but racing got tiring having to listen to various members of local club going on and on and on about rules.so quit that gig and bought myself a mbx5t chassis and am in the throws of brushless conversion with a mmm v3 and turnigy 500mah 30c 4s lipos.cant wait to get this puppy rolling

I had a Rustler (plain old Rustler) with the Novak HV4400 running on 14 IB3800 NiMH cells. Gearing: 18/90 (48P). It was fun! That system was later upgraded to 4s 5K LiPos, MGM16016-3s, and LMT Basic XL2800. What a difference...
My first was the 3905 with a novak 6.5 sintered rotor about a year and a half ago. The switch to brushless was hurried along when I ran in boggy sand on the first run without running in the brushed motors = 1 fried esc + 2 fried nimh's (cause I didn't unplug them)....complete noob
