Well Dan @ Kershaw designs is actually having me test a new (el cheapo 80a) controller (non programmable) and said I can pick which XL can motor I want to go with it for testing (he has his "own" XL motors and said they are more efficient/better built than the feigao's so I will probably just go with one of his).

I think 9xl sounds like the ticket.

When I say crawl I dont really mean the .25mph stuff. Just a couple MPH (with low gear anyway I dont think it will be too bad since the motor will be turning a decent RPM instead of being in high gear and trying to make the truck just barely move).

I am just hoping for 40mph on street trim (maybe gear for 25 mph dirt trim).

My total cost is going to be CHEAP so im not too worried about the setup. If any part of it fries he will replace as needed to see what needs to be done to get the setup reliable in a kit form for purchase by the general consumer.

I can always upgrade to a better motor later if I feel the need or it craps out after the period Dan agrees to replace it.

What would be a good motor in the ~100 dollar range to run on 4s? I know everyone raves about the castle motor? Anything in between the feigao's and castle?

I also know people have been happy with (roughly) 2200 RPM motor the hobbywing 80a/150a esc combo's come with. Maybe one of those?
