Hello,
I would buy a sensored brushless, but I hesitate between 2 controllers
I would like to know if the MMP can handle a T8 2050kV in a Ve8 (weight around 3550g).
I know the MMP is not dedicated to that, but in Europe we need this brushless for most of our racetrack.
The MMP have a Nice footrpint and I think it can made the work well, but I don't know if it can easily handle this kind of motor (the T8 2050kV is a delta wound that drain more current than the Wye wound)

Thanks for your answer

Is this ESC going to be any good to use as a crawler esc? Or is it too big?

I think on a AX10 or the like it would work fine. It has the same footprint as the MM which many people already use on crawlers. The good thing is that you could remove the fan and save a little more space since crawlers tend to pull such low amps I highly doubt the fan would ever come on.

The sensored/sensorless hybrid mode would be probably bet pretty nice for crawling.

It should work fine, I was running a tekin RX8 (1/8) esc on my losi comp crawler with a 21.5 tekin redline on 4s. It worked awesome and since both controllers have switching becs, no need for a seperate bec to run your servos.

So if you are in dire need of a replacement, the upgrade path is not your best option.

Please understand that this upgrade program is brand new for us. We are still setting up a system to make it easier on you guys and on us. The policies have been set, we just need a system in place to make it work.

I'll post more details as they become available, and keep you guys in the loop.

This is an important time for Castle. We have a wide range of new products hitting the market, with components we've never used before (Sensors, data logging and onboard adjustable BEC's). So we're excited and a little anxious at the same time. We're also working on improving the repair process. We are implementing a new system and new policies in regards to repairs and warranties. The end result should be a MUCH faster turnaround and the ability to track your repair as it moves through the different stages.

If you have questions or concerns, just post them here, this way everyone can see the answers. Thanks fellas and have a great weekend!

I'm not in a rush. What I was looking for was not the price ( I saw that earlier) but the details of how to go about the upgrade.

IE. Where do you request an upgrade? I assume I have to mail the MM back to castle, so do you just fill out a repair request form and note that you want an upgrade to MMP? Right now you can do the online repair request, but its only repair for $50. Perhaps just adding an option to the dropdown menu that requests upgrade only for whatever you will charge ($75) so you can check out and get an RMA number there and put into the queue.
Whatever makes sense with your system. I'm just looking for the logistics.
Thank you and good luck. Its very nice to see a company so dedicated to customer service and constant improvement.

3.5KG = 7.8lbs, so I think the MMpro would do fine with the T8 motor- even being delta wound its still only 2050kv, pushing a pretty light vehicle. I would look in the MMPro beta testers thread and look at the feedback for more ideas.

We are working on adding an "upgrade" option to make it easier on you guys and on us. I believe we will add an option for Upgrade under "Is this a warranty claim" and just make something like "Other - Upgrade". Or add the upgrade option to the product type list. We're open to suggestions on that.

For now when you fill out the form on the website, just claim it as a non-warranty Mamba Max for $50.00. When you fill in the order form, there is a section for additional information. Just add a note that says "Please upgrade to Mamba Max Pro". Our repair administrator will adjust the cost and change the order to a Mamba Max Pro. We won't charge your card until the replacement is ready to ship, so you can submit your credit card number on the secure order form.

After you submit the order, you will get an e-mail confirmation back. Just print off the e-mail confirmation and send it in with the Mamba Max. Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Thinking along the lines of crawlers... what about a Sidewinder Pro? I think if it were only $10-20 more than the current Sidewinder for the added sensor capability and current-spec FETs and brain board it would be a hit.

As long as you gear conservatively, I don't see a major problem with this. Being that it is a Delta wind, make sure you are running lowest timing (0°). That motor is very close to our 2650Kv motor, so it should be a good fit on a 3 or 4s LiPo setup. I wouldn't be too surprised to see the fan kick on from time to time. Let us know how that works out!
