Old Feigao 7XL on 6s G3 lipo.... disgusting power! - 10.21.2009, 10:10 PM

I found my old 7XL in my 'junk' box, so I decided to give it a try on 6s lipo, G3 lipo that is. The only pinion gear I could fit on it was 18T, so 51/18 on orig. GM single speed tranny, geared a 'tad' high (75+mph) ..... HOLY $#!T I could NOT use anything over 70% throttle for more than .2 seconds, the thing was literally almost going to fly apart! I can't even describe the power it has.

Video for tomorrow!

hahaha, I'm telling you, it must be hitting 3000watts peak, it's just ridiculous! Motor controller was cold actually (modded Quark), and batts like wise too, surprisingly. But it drained ~1800mah in about 6-7 mins, from a rated 4200, that's hot! I would guess that it would be similar to my 1512/3D running on maybe 9s lipo? (Which I would like to see)

I might take it into town on some asphalt to get a speed run going too, although I'm sure it will blow up before it hits top speed.

In a Revo 3.3 conversion. Check below.

Andrew32... don't do it! LOL I am afraid for your safety if you do!

Oh, and temps are unknown as I lost my temp gun. However the case was pretty warm, maybe 160 - 170F, but the rotor was very hot, at least 200F.
