No matter which one you buy we all make adjustments to them to sute our own needs. So buying the clone is a good way to start and build up from there. It is the huge up front investment that has kept me from buying the 5b in the first place. I enjoy building them up piece by piece myself. Starting with an RTR for $600 is a nice way to jump in.
