It does sounds like radio glitching to me too. I wouldn't think it's an LVC issue because it seems to do it even when deccelerating where current draw is lowest.

If you don't have a spare radio, you can eliminate the location by simply going to a wide open area devoid of power lines. Of course, if the radio signal is being garbled by the brushless motor/ESC noise, that won't help. Also, see if you can move the antenna as far away from the motor wires as possible. This probably won't cure it, but if it helps at all, then you know the signal is being garbled. I agree, 2.4Ghz is a must. Are you using an AM radio? If so, that is most likely your problem.
