Just wondering what other options are out there for connectors?I researched and found the Dean's were the most popular but personally I think they are a pos after soldering a set up,they could have made them so much better. What else is out there that's a good plug?
I found trying to do 10ga on them melts them. Pre tinned everything. Yes they were REAL Deans, right out of the bag. Doing bullets on my 10ga wires instead...
I have used deans forever and they work great. I am switching to 4mm bullets becuase hobbycity stopped carrying fake deans and I'm cheap. Anderson power poles are also another option. People who use them swear by them.
The good thing about bullets/andersons is that you don't need a series adaper; you can just hook them up because they aren't polarized. Andersons iirc have the option to be polarized, but I'm not sure.
I placed an order for xt60 plugs at hobbycity to replace all my deans. They look a lot better in terms of surface contact, soldering, and plugging in and out. They are on back order like everything Hobbycity carries but once I get them I'll let you know...
I just got done soldering 10ga MMM wires on my deans and no problems at all.

If you are worried about melting the deans connector when soldering them, just plug the mating connector into it while solder, it ensure that the connector will always line up with its mate.
