How big is the 5Ah cell? I like how the tabs are on opposite ends - makes wiring less risky for those with shaky soldering iron hands. And speaking of the tabs, are they Al, steel, etc? And how thick are the tabs? I hate how a certain company's tabs are like 0.05mm thick and tear by looking at them.

Oh No, you must be thinking about "reject" cells or something.

It's 10mm X 50mm X 150mm. The tabs on any of the flat cells can be made that way. I have no clue what they're made out of and how thick the tabs are.

I know you were kidding . So was I, there's a MOQ since I go directly to the factories. I've done my research to find most of the factories and I would hate to just give all my info away for free . I'm really thinking about bringing a few of the cells just to shut MA up a bit. I am getting 2 cylindrical cells that are supposed to pack a punch and teach A123 a lesson of what people are looking for (If they work ).

I was into this type of "research" for a long time.

Some Companies are good, some are not so good to deal with.

One thing that always kinda got me was, there isn't very many of them that speak (or type) English very well.

Testing samples is always a good idea before placing a large order. Even if they have a so called MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity), they are almost always willing to submit samples to make the sale.

Quality is always a question. It's very lacking with some companies and better with others.

Testing is fairly easy to do in the short term, but it's hard to test longevity.

The Lifepo4 Chemistry in itself, is impressive.

I like the 5ah cells. 10mm thick though? I wonder if a 3S pack would fit the E Revo? That would be pushing it.

I'd like to see some small packs to fit the Mini Slash etc. With a youngun there is a "no soft case lipo" rule in our house, so I'm stuck on Nimh right now.

I'll be testing a 2/3A cell when they come in. They'll be replacing my NiMH and lipos currently being used in my minis. One of the LiFePo4 battery makers that I know said they licensed a new material to make a higher C rate cell. I hope it works good.

The research I do is mostly for my clients. It's funny, because a lot of them are in Asia, but they want me to source the parts they need. That's how I find most of the companies I know of. If English is a barrier, I just type something to my client and they translate it for me . I like to test before I order and if things are not right, I just let it go fast. Quality is mainly up to the end customer, but if there's a new material in the works, most of the time it will fail a few times before that matures. I think a 3S can fit the E-Revo, it'll be a little over 30mm thick after the pack is assembled, but the length could be way over 150mm. Keep in mind other capacities can be made, those were just old pictures one of the manufacturers sent me.

Do you think the MA boys are watching now? They're not very active lately.

Of course they are still watching. They just know their role and have chosen to shut their pie-hole. LOL

The 4500mah Turnigy packs that I've been running are very nice. I like them alot.

One thing I've noticed about them, they seem to be improving on capacity the more I cycle them. It almost seems as if there is a break in period.
