This is a thread jack, no body move!

What would you pc guys say is the issue when the computer refuses to boots up past the 'post'? stage; just when you expect the little reassuring beep after a few seconds, the pc just shuts down- fans all working fine, no other hardware issues (ram, hdd, cpu etc all fine)? When I built my new pc the original 2 mother boards had to be replaced after only a few days each time, until I bought an updated version of the mobo which has been fine ever since....

Remove all hardware accessories except mobo, PSU, video card *if needed* and boot HDD then try again. If it still continues to power down, swap out the PSU. If that doesn't fix it, failing mobo.
