Unsullied_Spy & magman, thank you for your kind thoughts & words, please don't feel bad for him, he's actually a bilateral cochlear recipient & doing very well. It would just be nice for him to hear without his devices

Magman, you are absolutely correct...this IS the time of year to think of others less fortunate

As all of us would love something added to our collections...please, please, lets us all not forget those less fortunate this holiday season. Also, let us realize how blessed we are living in a country where were are free to live, to enjoy our hobby and prosper.

PBO... I too would give up every one of my collection if it would help your son's hearing. Seeing any child handycapped in any way breaks my heart

Perspective is a good reminder of things in life. I've seen kids faces just light up when they've seen my Flux or my Blade MSR buzzing around this year and its sad that some of these kids won't get to experience the joys of ownership of toys like I did when I was their age.

Perspective is something most people lose site of during their busy lives...myself included. I try, all be it not always successful, to look at life through my daughter's eyes. Simple and uncomplicated. She always makes me smile when I am down. She is my greatest gift!

Not trying to pat myself on the back here, but kind of thought it fit in with current discussion.

I found out today that I have a new project coming in the door that will keep me entertained into january for sure. I also came across a thread where a fellow rock-crawler had to put down his cat and due to vet bills and him and his wife being out of work, they had no money left. Me and a few other guys pitched in to pay the guys rent for the month to help ease some stress during the holidays.

It is the season of giving, and I have come to learn that there is always someone closer to the bottom than yourself!

When I first seen this thread I thought about adding some of my dream items to the list. However I can really live without anything else, I usually just buy myself what I want when I want it anyways! Very selfish I know, I have no one else to care for or look after or spoil. Honestly that is what I truly want though, someone in my life to care about. Because I have been so selfish this year I did decide to do something nice for the holidays.

A new friend of mine is a single mother going through some difficulties in life. The father of her 5 year old is a dead beat and she doesn't have much money to give her daughter a good Christmas. I have stepped up to the plate and bought a couple things for her that she asked for. It really is the season for giving and it makes me very happy to help make a little girl smile on Christmas. Of course if it earns me a few brownie points with her Mom that won't hurt either, but thats not why I did it.

Rather than getting myself something else RC related I spent some money to make a child happy. It just means my new E-maxx may have to wait a little longer before I upgrade it to brushless and maybe I'll have to wait till spring till I can get a 4x4 slash. O darn, I already have 4 cars and to helicopters to play with. How about a thread asking what we have done to help someone else out during the holidays?

Not that it is the responsibility of every single person out there, but that was a very nice thing for you to do. Very cool E-Revonut, and maybe Santa will reward you with some pie later(if you know what I mean). Merry Christmas to you.

Even though my wife and I have 8 kids of our own(5 in college & 3 home), and two grandkids we still manage to donate money, clothes, and time for various charities. We just bought a box full of clothing, and like 20pair of sneakers for family & friends kids who have allot less than we do. Of course they were on sale, and marked down another 50% to 75%. I always bit!*$ and complain about the things we need or want, but she very gently pushes me to stay involved anyway, because these people have no one else to help them out. Our kids are doing ok, and we have a roof over our heads, and food on the table, so why not help others who do not.

We both work for the Gov so job security really is not much of an issue right now, but the housing market crash has really put us upside down with our house in Cali. We hope that it will come back to reality at some point, but shelling out money for something that is worth allot less than we owe on it really sucks. We paid out over $45K last year for this house, because the renter lost her job and had to move out and this year will end up costing us even more because it has sat empty. Still we are one of the lucky families, and we know it.

SUPERMAXX YOUR LIFE.
