General MT questions...specifically lst2, as well as opinions needed. - 12.14.2009, 12:47 PM

So just a couple questions on wheels and body. which are larger tires/wheels??
420 series or the 40series?? Are they interchangable? I have done a few searches and I dont really understand the logic or size of the 420 series other then a way for losi to make more money off specialty size along with the 20mm hex.

My guess is the 40 series is a bit larger. If this is the case then I will probably just do the 20 to the 23mm hex conversion. Biggest is my goal, low end torque wheelie popping good time MT.

Next is the body option on the LST xxL. I am figuring that any lst2 body from proline would suffice??

I saw this body and it really kinda brings out the nostalgic Tonka toy days out in me...curious on what you guys thought. Is this body going to work it does not say specifically lst2 and I think the revo 3.3 might be shorter.

I like simple paint so I will probably have a all white cab with black bed. Thoughts??

420 = 40 series tires with a 20mm hub.. I changed to a 17mm hub because thats what all of my wheels are.

as for the truck body the 3905 emaxx body is close to the same length, the rear wheel well comes up a bit short but that dump truck has no rear wheel well so it should be fine, just the height adjustments me need some playing with

Thanks Jay, after doing some more searching the wheels I am digging are in the 17mm as well and I have some more options for bashing wheels as well. Seems like a more logical route. Ya I think I going to have to give that body a try.

If you want big wheels you could go with the cen 23mm hex wheels, I believe they're 7.5". I test fit some on my muggy once:

I doubt a 3905 body will fit nicely. The XXL's wheelbase is 2" longer.

LST XXL wheels/tires are cheap enough on eBay, I got some for my Muggy and they perform well. I personally prefer big tires on my trucks so I think it works out pretty well:

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.
