I would, but this vise is a cheapy harbor freight model and the press is not really good either. I would like to get a small lathe, just to get a feel for it.

Sorry, I'd rather see Mike sell even a limited selection of pinions than offer that as a service. I don't want to cut the shaft on my 1717.
BTW, in case anybody from Castel is paying attention, the shaft size for teh 1717 is still shown on your chart wrong as 5mm.

We are changing the diameter for future motors to 5mm.

OK, thats cool for future owners, but pretty much kills any hope for 6mm pinions from RCM for current 1717 owners....

Maybe the 5mm shaft rotors will be offered seperatly? If one wanted both size shafts for one motor.

I imagine there is only a small number of people who will ever actually own the 6mm version given what Patrick has just said, so everyone will write it off as a mistake pretty much & move on; Im sure Castle will take care of you if its that much of a problem getting 6mm pinions/ machining down the shaft to 5mm at home.

Glad to hear it Will the heli motors (with the shaved fins) have the 6mm shaft and the Monster Truck motors be 5mm? IMO that's the way it should have been from the start, but oh well.
The front bearing is 6x16x5, correct? Mine got some metal shavings in it from grinding the shaft down and needs to be replaced.
All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

Yes, the heli motor will be 6mm, and the truck motor 5mm. It should have been that way from the beginning -- was an oversight on my part.
I'll have to get back to you on the bearing size - - working at home today (sick kids...)

Once we have the 5mm shaft in production, we'll offer a replacement rotor to those who got a 6mm and need a 5mm instead.

Good stuff, but will you swap out for the ones that were "modded" to 5mm...? Nothing against my skill, but I would much rather have a properly turned shaft than my half-assed attempt!!!!!
