I have a 4500 6s 30c fp lipo, and ran my muggy last week with it. It had been sitting in the lipo drawer for a few months, fully charged. Performance was terrible, not even getting 25mph. It was stone cold (maybe 50f) so I stuck it in front of a small electric fire for a few mins, got the pack up to 85 or so. Then I figured I would check to see if it was charged fully. 610i put about 70mah back in so it was very close to full. Put it back in the muggy and performance was better. So I did alot of stop and accel to warm the pack up a bit. After a few mins I was wheeling down the street and doing 45mph.

Conclusion, lipo temps matter. Some lipos like to be warm (enerland 30c run warmer than the 25c do) and I can imagine that all lipos will benefit from being around 85-90f before the run.

I thought the "Redshit" was funny too... Just cause I do the same thing when I am typing and do not even notice.

So since I figured this out, can I have a job at Fat Kid Engineering? Sounds like a great place, completely lacking and public correctnees!!!!
Hopeing you'd chime in sooner or later,
In post #3 I mentioned about pack temps possibly being issue, The packs came out of the house Thermostat set at 74 for my partially fossilized Pops.
I was thinking it still possibly be it, I was outside fine tuning EPA's and turnbuckles and such for 10 minutes befor running so they could very well have dropped enough. ? I did try a different pack with same results tho ?
More Testing Monday.
I was out 2 weeks ago and temps were 60ish and all the Zippy Packs wanted nothing of the cool weather. I let them sit in the sun for 45 minutes and they worked like gangbusters. Polyquest packs worked normally.

Job at F.K.I. ?
Dude, with the quick wit and knowledge you have I'd be foolish to think of anything less than a full partnership.

Glad you like picking on Jason also, he's good pepes.

Step 4: Dealing with Denial

You gots the wronk moter. Now cut your losses and get on TRX (if you haven't been booted?) and sell those fresh-outta-the-egg noobs that motor for $275. You can tell them it's a hybrid Kryptonite-Ion Drive and will go 120 mph on a watch battery!

I saw what you did in that MA thread on RCG, I can just imagine you on TRX....

In retrospect I felt kinda bad for RCG... Not JAMbag, but those wholesome types who might have never seen such graphic depictions

Yeah, that compulsive lipo liar deserves it, I had the feeling you wanted to post something a bit less tame... but you showed restraint, which was commendable

I'm sure he was left with a bad taste in his mouth that day too, and night maybe?

Nice! What is all that other electronic junk? A BEC? What else? Looks like a Nasa project!

Did u make that roll bar? How did u mount it to the chassis? What are those zipties holding?

My Stampy isn't too far off from yours really. You've got nicer electronics and a bit more bling. I'm always looking for tips to make it better!

Looks like yer chassis is nice and polished too. How do u do that? My chassis is in good shape, just not as shiney as it used to be, and a bit scuffed. Some gobbly gook and a polishing wheel on my dremel?

Love the Slayer front body mount. Looks like the ticket! But that roll bar is great!

I can't tell u how many times I've bent my rear shock tower forward and had it replaced from upside down forward moving crashes. I wish there were a better way to keep it from flexing in either direction, outside of not crashing!

Looks stellar Bro!

Thanks Jason .

Had to have the BEC due to rewireing ESC for a single 4s, had to pull the red wire from ESC's plug. BEC gives the RX juice.

Roll bar is a narrowed MGT roll bar, mounted via 4mm screws

1 zip tye, holdeing ESC's capacitor to roll bar

I never polished mine ? It's still looking purty good even after getting run over by a full sized ford van. Crushed it ! Drove over the front wheel and shock tower and banannaed the chassis. I just straightened everything. EVen the roll bar, broke the screws and bent the shit out of it but it straightened.

SLASH Body mounts

I had the same prob w/rear tower untill I ran longer screws through and put a nylon lock nut on it. No worrys. Even after getting run over it's still fine !
Let me know if you want a pic ?

Ok.. so the Capacitor comes WITH the Novak? What is it's purpose?

I gather that the Novak doesn't have a built in BEC then? And if it does... does a single 4S muck that up somehow? Or does it only support 2x2S lipos Parallel?

I'm JUST now learning about BEC's, etc... All my trucks have either been Nitro, or had a built in BEC in the ESC. So, "extra electronic stuff" wired up is new to me.

What kinda tires are those? They look cool. Are those 12mm rims?

Oh, and does that rollbar only work with certain bodies? Or can you raise and lower it somehow?

Where did you get that diamond plate? That is cool! Do you have to unbolt it completely to change the battery?

You can email me pix if'n you want to man.

Ok, The Novak HV's come with the capacitors.
Someone else could explain the reasoning better than myself as to why.
My understanding is it'lll help w/possible heat issues, how ???

Have to have the BEC because the ESC is wired for 2 2s in parrallel and I''ve rewired it per Novaks instructions to run a single 4s, so I've lost the Internal BEC from a 2s pack. I just pulled the red wire from the ESC plug.

No the roll bar is pretty much for this body only, I can cut the legs shorter for other applications easy enough.

Diamond plate , FleaBay and it was cheap.

I have a 3700mah 4s, so run time should be good and long. Yes, must remove 4 screws to change battery.

OK, was able to test today for a few minutes
Geared now at 58/12 and needs to go up again, top end was decent (about 40mph)and temps were great but it cogged very slightly at low throttle inputs. Might try a 40T spur and see what that does because I have lots of room to go up.
