flm half case install - 02.03.2006, 11:47 AM

what screws do you use to mount the motor plate to the flm half case? it came with 3 and 3 hex but they seem to be to long.

You can use relative long screws, the M3 is tappered right thru, so you could use the size you like, as long as it doesn't touch the screw that holds the sinnglespeed plate.

Are we even talking about the same thing? I have the FLM half case it came with 3 hex screws and they are to long and will not go in all the way to hold the blue motor plate.

I don't have any screws that will work they are all to long. I would think the ones it came with are to be used.

Nope, i forgot something..

I made the holes deeper, they are about 5-6 mm deep normally, so that is the maximum dept you can use. I drilled them a bit deeper and threaded them deeper too..

If they are the thickness of the plate + 5 or 6 mm, then yes, you can use them.

Why oh why does that need to be done? Why didn't FLM make them the correct depth for the hex scews it came with? That makes no sense.
