Summit brushless idea - 01.17.2010, 04:00 PM

I want a water resistant brushless setup for my Summit. I was thinking of a mmp on 6s and a low kv tekin motor to combat the amp draw. The 1550 kv truggy motor geared for 40 mph , not sure if the mmp will survive. Anyone seen the new Mtroniks g2 beast esc completely waterproof just not sensored . Where can I get one in the states?

I wonder if the g2 can handle 4 pole motors? Plus it HAS (per the manul) to mounted to an al chassis to perform properly. No al chassis on the summit. I am sure you could make a good finned heatsink and bond that on it...

Bit once you get into that amount of work I would just put the MMM in a waterproof box. I pan to do this with a sidewinder in my next scale 1.9 rig, and make it fully waterproof.

Wow, so MTronics finally made something new. Just looked up the spec on the beast version for 1/8 r/cs; average to poor at best:

12nimhs / 4s lipo max
Rated current 150amps (good if true), peak current 200amps (poor, looks like airplane esc fets maybe?)
BEC rated for 5volts & 3amps, only for use upto 9.6v input- lame.

Its pretty compact and waterproof, but only much good in lighter stuff with an external BEC
