Yeah, brushless. Astro 3210 or 3220 motors can be found at astroflight.com. Pretty big "rc" style motors, industrial construction.

Search google for "9c electric bike" to get a bunch of relevant info regarding hub motors. The 9c is a popular motor that is priced very low right now, one of the best values on the market for power : cost ratio.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm keeping an eye out on Craigslist for a go kart or small 4 wheeler with a bad engine to convert.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I would like to see an option on the car software to turn the motor braking off and just run mech brakes. Especially in a 1/5 scale car. What do you guys think??

I read somewhere that Patrick was in China so I don't think there will be any updates the next week or so.

Even if they have just begun testing and early results are good, R&D takes time so I personally wouldn't think we will see something the next 3+ months. I'm guessing here but it would surprise me.

Hi Patrick,
I see you guys are working on a lot of new exciting stuff. The new 1512, a 1717, and 2025 motors look very promising and so does this new ESC with car software. Are you making any progress?

Normally you are far better at sharing info on upcoming products so I thought I might ask ;)

But preliminary results look positive...
Have you had a chance to revisit testing?

Any updates yet?

Patrick, now that the holidays are behind us, and the new year is in full swing have you had a chance to do any further work/testing with the ICE160?
