Big ass brushless savage - 01.16.2010, 04:09 AM

Well, the thread title pretty much sums it up. Here are some pics to get the build started.

It has an 18" WB chassis. I am gonna run a Tekin T8 1700kv motor that I have here, probably off my MMM. However if I run across the Tekin esc I will try that since for the sensor.

I am going to run it off 4s to start. If I think I need more I will go to 5s, however this is just a basher and I just need enough speed to get it off the ramps.

Here are some battery location pics. This is two 4s 20c 4000mah packs that will be run together at 4s 40c 8000mah. Should have great run time.

I also have two of these packs, these would be run one at a time. Specs in the pic.

The packs are low in the chassis. I have a flux mount here and custom clamps on order. Should be a fun truck. Now I just need an 18" WB body, any suggestions?

Also, I have some 40 series BL's with mashers, and I also have some CEN wheels/tires on the way. Not sure which ones will end up on her, probably the lighter of the two.

Oh ya and I have some savage bulks with CEN arms, hubs, and cvd's on the way to give a shot. They have the HPI bulletproofs in them. And I also have some HPI bulletproofs for these if I decide to stick with the stock setup.

Oh, and if anyone could be so kind as to help me with part numbers and or links to the parts needed to fix this trans up to flux single speed specs I would be forever grateful.

I like it! What tvps are those? Cost? I need to see how much longer that is over my flm setup, been waiting for a longer set of tvps to show up. Maybe a 5T body?
Might help in your gear search

Here's a link to the chassis.

I think I'm just gonna have to cough up the dough for one of those Firehammer MT body's.

Ah that was the other body I couldnt think of, from what ive seen their kinda plain looking why I suggested the hpi one. If you still want the info for the center gears let me know and I can dig em up, I did the same thing a while back to mine I was just running a locked 2 speed gear set then opted to get the flux one.
Look forward to seeing it done any estimate to when it will be running?

Btw, when you parallel batts, only the capacity increaes, not the C rating, so you will infact have 4s 20c 8000mah. Still plnety of power though as that means a total of ~160amps discharge rating.

KershawDesigns has the Firehammer MT body for a good price, along with the XTM Mammoth thats even better value: http://204.186.93.64/Bodies.htm

I have the Mammoth body for my 18" WB TXT-1 project truck- perfect fit pretty much, and looks quite nice, based on the F-350 I believe.

This now has me inspired, just measured my flm setup and its "15 from axle to axle to this one is 3" more in length. Anxious to see your thoughts after you run it.
Do you know one thing, will a mamba monster motor fit with the hpi motor mount? Reason I ask is you mention a custom mount...

I think only smooth can Neu and the HPI castle/neu motors fit. Monster Mike custom makes some 42mm clamps that fit the Tekin T8 motors and any other 42mm motor I guess.

I got the mammoth body in, it looks close enough on wb. Also got the CEN goods. Since most of the stuff is used I will be tearing it all down and cleaning/regreasing/shimming parts before I start assembling again, so it may be a while before there are any updates that are picture worthy.

Thanks, the body and those big CEN 7.7 wheels/tires look like they will go well together.

Honestly I don't remember exactly, I think it was a little over 2 weeks wait. No worries, it will show up.

Yea dont doubt it will show just had hoped it would have been this week.

Any chance of some shots with that body on it? Im still debating on a body but im waiting to have it together and see if a body I have here now will look ok on it but I will show what that is once its here and I can start a thread on it.
One other thing did you get the skid plate with yours? He was out of em and says shouldnt need one since I got the battery floor but wonder how much is going to get up in there with the bottom open? I also got a motor mount from him that he milled out to fit a castle mamba monster motor, he will do this to any HPI motor mount if anyone needs it done not sure on price but if you buy the tvps he will do it for free if you send it to him but I got lucky and he had one there
