It's a eMachines em250-1162 with a 2gb Kingston RAM upgrade.

I'm looking at the SD option simply because they are small and do not stick out when inserted into netbook. I also have a couple usb sticks but am just looking for something that fits the case I bought better. I'll probibly just get a couple of 8gb cards.

Why do you need SD cards? Doesn't that thing have a 250gig harddrive? Not sure what you do with it, but try JoliCloud. Its a pretty nice Linux based OS that you can install.

Memory goes fast when Ipods/music/movies/videos are used.

Using SD cards isn't the most cost effective way to add extra space. Ahh, that was a Wal-Mart black friday special, hence why the specs on it arn't so great. Throw this badboy in their. If you fill that up, well, time to get a desktop or external USB Terabyte drive. May not be as portable but hey, you can't have everything

If thats pretty much all you use it for, I'd get the drive Freeze recommended and just install JoliCloud as the OS. If I remember right, its quite a bit smaller than Windows 7 and should do everything you need. Or you could always do a dualboot, but I wouldn't bother if you don't use it for much other than media.

Uh, there is no need to install a smaller OS in a 500gig drive.

Its just a better OS for netbooks to be honest, and if he filled the 250gig that easy, then a half a dozen or so more gigs couldn't hurt by any means. I mean hell, I have over 500gigs just in movies, right around 50 gigs in music, 30 gigs of ROMS for my PSP, and at least 5gigs of pictures. If he's anything like me he would need every last bit of that 500gigs.

I linked for a 640gig on sale from WD, unless you fork over some bucks for the 750gig badboy. I'm glad im not a media whore and don't have gigs and gigs worth of movies and MP3's besides my HTPC.
