Advice on Jammin x1crt conversion - 02.15.2010, 10:03 PM

Hello,

New to the forum and been away from the rc scene for the last 5 yrs.

Looking for any advice on my Jammin x1crt BL conversion.

Talked with Mike and have decided on a combo to cure my boredom with nitro engines.

Combo:
rx8 and T8 1550kv motor
HYPERION G3 VX 5000 MAH 5S 18.5V 35C/65C
slipperential with 52 T spur
Assorted pinions

Usage will be some bashing but mainly running around a medium size track in my back yard with 70' straightaway.

Is there anything specific to the Jammin setup that others have experienced when using the x1crt?

Read as many threads as I could find on RCM and found quite a bit of good info so far.

Thanks

you may want to change the diff ratio from buggy to truggy with hotbodies lightning stadium ring and pinions for more gearing options. also u will want the big bore shocks from the x2.

So I would change the ring and pinion in the front and rear diffs and the slipperential will take care of the center right? I assume the HB ring and pinions fit in the jammin diff housing?
Thanks for the reply

I guess you are saying that with the x2 gearing the 1350kv would be a better fit ? I'm still getting the hang of the bl stuff and don't quite understand all the relationships between gearing vs kv and all.
Thanks

sorry i did not see the low kv motor, with 1550kv motor i would just run the smaller spur 46-52 and gear accordingly using brians speed chart. 4s is good for tight tracks but if u get in the wide open 5s is where its at, 6s is usually heavy and not worth the gain.

this will help you figure your gearing. with 5s i would gear for about 40-45 and 4s about 30-35
