Question TC3 Buggy vs Nitro Jato - 02.27.2010, 11:38 PM

Remember this video? Well the same guy went and bought a NEW Jato buggy and now he wants a rematch lol. Honestly, I dont know if I can handle a Jato right now. I think my esc and motor are good, but I think I have to at least upgrade my lipo Battery, if nothing else. Any other suggestions??

I guess we would have to know how you're tc3 is set up. Maybe a link to the build thread, or some info on it. Atleast a pic or something.

Jatos can handle speed obviously, but the tranny might not like the high torque of BL. Traction is the hardest problem I have with my Jato; the tranny (with single speed option) has held up fine so far.

For all out speed only, wind whatever motor you plan to use to it's max rpm. Use higher voltage (3s or 4s), gear up, and let 'er rip. Just don;t use something like a 1512 or whatever; that much torque is sure to blow the tranny apart unless you are easy on the throttle.

also, neither of the r/c's mentioned are buggies. The "tc" in "tc3" stands for touring car. It is considered an on road touring car. The jato is classified as a stadium truck.

Whatever the case is, you shouldn't have a problem spanking it.

Silly Brian You always read like half of the question. He's not converting a jato, he's racing a nitro jato with his tc3.

I always thought when you purchase a kit with your hard earned cash, and put together a r/c vehicle, you run it where ever the heck you want to?? lmao!! You genuises teach me things everyday! lol.
I run it on road because I knew I was going to sell it. I didn't want to beat my buggy up, then try to sell it to someone. (Thats not how I do business). Make sense?? If not, I understand... lol.

The motor is a Neu 1509 1.5YF
esc 160/200 Amp MGM 16cell max
My pack is a Neu 4100 3s 30/60c I'm planning on making the NEU SP2 3700 5S1P 46/92c my new racing Battery pack.
What gearing would you recommend, and can my esc handle that Neu lipo pack I want?
