well,

it only looks that bad because when I pulled the chip off, the solder followed it causing the mountain of solder.

the chip on the left I played with a bit with my soldering iron so that is not exactly how it looked once I pulled the chip off, but the area on the right has not been tampered with since the chip was pulled off
