Really? Wow, that wasn't very smart of them then if they do in fact only allow 36mm motors.

I looked through the entire thing, and didn't see any mention of motor size limits, or even a reference to the dia.

Read the fine print "kit comes with 2lbs of lead mountable to front bumper"
I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Geez, what a joke! Lets try to compensate for the insane amounts of power people will be using by adding 2lbs of lead weights to the front. Fricken genius!
I was thinking of possibly using the Tekno mount on 1 of my LST's. Anyone have an opinion here? I would make some adaptor plates like Tekno uses to push the pinion to the spur.

Yay A BL LST but a FAIL none-the-less. Weight needs to be upfront or at least balanced. Then as mentioned there is the inflexable motor mount.

HA...got my FIRST response from Losi today - stated that the size was 40mm x 80mm. Hmmm.....that just happens to be the same as the size of the "tape" shims that they include with the package. I sent a response back asking them to please forward the question to their engineering dept...
Yeah, its not a great set up. Doable, but not great.

Yeah looks alot like my first setup on my Aftershock from FD, whuch works ok on 3-4 s lipo. I tried that setup with the MMM combo in staed on 5s, and it was way to heavy in the back.
I moved the mechanical breaks and moved the batterytray up front. It can still o wheelies ofcourse, but it is way easier to control. Weird that Losi havenīt looked around, to see what works, an even if they didnīt they shoul know...
Here is my conversion

Klausen, I'd love to view your galleries from your links, but, I can't see them apart from the LST/Aftershock ones.

42mm motors makes this far more viable (assuming you can do something with the batteries). Plus, no tape shims!
To my knowledge, the LST has never had a CD option. The parts they have you replace are (from what I read) a slight gearing tweak to work better with BL power. I'm not sure if there's enough room in the trans case to even mount a standard 1/8 size diff.

Looks like you could mount the battery tray/esc mount on the front if you ditched the radio box. You would not be able to use the blue support post for the esc tray, so something would have to be fabbed up.
Seeing that a tdr mount is 70 bucks, and the 1 speed hub is 40 bucks this is cheaper, but I am not sure how much gearing adjustment it will offer for those of us who use a 1 speed hub and set screw pinions. Looks like this retains the 25t/63 gearing. If it is designed to use all of the losi supplied gears you may be able to get a 25/59 to fit and mesh correctly, but that is losi's smallest 2nd gear spur.
The motor mount is interesting, and quite low cg. Putting the battery over it is a step backwards, but if you retain the mech brakes and mech reverse there is really not much room in the front. I can see this being a great conversion for 4s usage, due to the 2speed and mech brakes. Or a hv setup that uses a feigao motor. 14xl on 8s lipo with a 60amp hv esc would be great. Use some 2500ah lipos to keep the weight down. Still going to wheelie alot.

My buddy has a Raminator that is in great shape, nitro, and runs like beast. But the market is so bad that he didn't even get $80 for it on Ebay. So he kept it. I told him he should E-Convert that bad boy, but the cost of a MMM/NEU, and the TDR Parts makes it an expensive endeavor. Not to mention it would be better suited to get converted to an LST2 as well.
Looks the verdict on this Losi E-Kit is a... thumbs down!

I wasn't a fan when I first saw it either, as evidenced by my post on page two. But it is a kit you can work with. I got a really good deal on a Aftershock with the Losi kit with Losi single speed and MMM2200 combo. Driving it is like driving a cc2650kv powered rustler on 4s, yea it's that bad. But it's not hard to cut the upper deck off the battery tray (leave the upper slots for the straps) and mount it up front. Switching to a erevo rx box saves some space and a piece of plexi with a TRX MMM mount takes care of the esc out back. Truck drives like it should now, still wheelies but alot more controllable. Gearing is prettt much limited to 25/63, can't go smaller on the pinion or spur. But this works well with my current 1520 1600kv on 5s combo.
I don't know if you necessarily need the full LST2 conversion. I do know with the 1515 every run I was either spinning the 14mm hex in the rim or spinning the pin inside the hex! I had another MMM and the 1520 so the 2200 combo was sold to fund the LST2 conversion. Can't complain as I have about $75 into the roller at this point. When I eventually make it into an XXL with center diff, I'll assemble all the leftovers (basically an aftershock) and see how it holds up, with 17mm hexes and rims this time though.
