Rc8-e setups? - 03.14.2010, 02:46 PM

hey guys what setups do you run in your rc8's?
i just bought a roller with a tekno conversion kit so im looking for the best setup to run.. in my crt.5 i run a mm esc, medusa 3300,and 2 cell 8000mah lipo, and i get up to 35min runtime.. so im looking for a setup that will get me close to the same runtime.

i really like the medusa motors.. they have been great for me. and money is not realy a concern for me as long as im not spending 200$ on a motor.

so post up your setups and let me know how you like it..
thanks

I had a RC8Te paired with the RX8/2000 combo on 5s lipo, and it ran very well. Battery is only 4200 mah. but with mixed driving it gave me more or less 20 min.

For maximize runtimes, you have to use small gearing and efficient motor.
That's mean low kV and High voltage. Tekin truggy motor 1300kV on 6s would be perfect. I say tekin truggy version because buggy version aren't very powerfull and heat a little in buggy, and its drop the efficiency of the motor...

I donīt now if it will be the same with the buggy, but on the truggy version I ran the stockgearing, that came with the kit.

I'd go for a 6s setup, MMP and tekin 1400kv? Or MMP/MMM and medusa 36-60 1300-1600kv. Or the new castle/neu 1800kv at 5s?

I just got my MMM and medusa 1600kv for my tekno eight, I can't wait to try it out.

The neu/castle 1518 1800kv on 5S would be great for runtimes and cool temp. It handle more power than the tekin. Tekin truggy average 1400 watts and tekin buggy 1200watts. The castle 1518 1800kV is between 1600W and 1700W which mean you can gear up without temp issues.
