Yea, I can see adding another, but who would be difficult...
But yes, if ya'll could contribute a little more to help us would make things alot easier for everybody. Just PM a mod or report a post instead of chiming in and making it worse.

Yeah, sounds fair to me. Paintin' that beast of yours pink with eggplant pinstriping will really set it off. And a nice big mural on the hood of 2 dudes makin' out...

lol Come on now, I wouldn't want you to paint it to match your Lightning... I was just thinking more along the lines of a nice Eletron Blue, Imperial Blue Metallic, or the factory Navy Blue Metallic.

Suggestion -
03.15.2010, 10:42 PM
I have a suggestion that may help a bit. Why not have an icon placed somewhere for easy access that would open up a PM that would be sent to all the mods at once. Most of the guys in here do not know who the Mods are or how to contact them. This could help speed up response time when something comes up that needs imediate attention. Personally I to like the way things are run in here and have found that RCM & UE is a much more friendly atmosphere then some of the other sites. I tried a bunch when I first started into R/C four years ago, and just got tired of seeing all of the arguments. Not to mention the mods handing out punishments like police officers with quotas to fill, and doing it right in front of everyone else which caused even more problems. Banning someone for an occasional bad word is just rediculous, and just because some one does not see your point of view is no reason to get kicked off of a site either. Some just get caught up in the power status even though their intentions are well meant, and act like spoiled little bratts.
I think what Neil is suggesting is a good idea, but maybe if there was just one more Professional IT type person in here monitoring things and cleaning up the technical side of things that would help ease the pain just a bit. The Mods are doing a great job from what I have seen, and please keep up the good work Gents.

How about a dude in a dress(like Harold) maybe. That gave me a laugh James. The humor in here is why I am in here every day. Neil your off humor and brash responses tend to be a bit confusing some days and people just don't understand you. I have lived in enough countries over the years to see where it comes from. So I get it. Most of you guys are just plain hilarious once you get spun up and enter into one of these threads. It is like going to see my very own comedy show every single day. Keep it up. Doctor recommended = Laughter is one of the best forms of exercise and it is good for the heart.

Very true, we would not want to paint a chevy up to match a ford. That would be wrong, seeing that the paint would be try to go faster than the car... All wrong...
I like the blue idea, my fave color. I am not fond of the black lightning so it may be time for it to go to a new home... I will be looking for a lightly used viper in the coming months... Time for a new toy.

I know that I am peasant here, but, being around for 2+yrs., this site and most of the members here keep me coming back for more abuse and to also lighten my wallet.
IMO the mods do a great job in policing these forums....just my .01$ worth

business must be doing pretty good if you would ever consider getting a viper! I wish I had the funds to take that lightening off your hands! It is one of my dream vehicles! I'm not really a car person, although I do like Mustangs, but I would take a lightening over just about any car any day.

Business is okay, i like to recycle my money to fund my toys. Sell off some stuff to pay for the new wants and desires. If you guys only knew what I have spent in the last 6 months on gun stuff, it makes me sick sometimes but most of it is already going up in value.
My axiom, buy low and sell high. I don't buy expensive clothes, and try to keep my living expenses down too. I have side jobs that will pay for alot of my toys. I work alot, but I have a good time mostly. I won't say I love my job but i like the fringe benefits. I don;t take it easy, and I am busy when the sun is out, and try to sleep sometimes.
The viper is what it is, about as close to a shelby cobra replica without having to build it myself (I would nver buy a replica that someone else built, yuk). I bit rough around the edges, but that is its charm to me. I just want something a bit over the top, and it is more sensible to have the wife with me than on my bike. I should be able to score what I want for 25k or so... Maybe less if I can score a good deal. Should get 16+ out of the lightning, so I am getting there. The bike will cover another 6k or so, and I have some pocket money laying around. Plus I have more rc to sell, just need to organize it (shudders).
The wife has me busy organizing the new house, 100 pictures to hang, shelves to move, wire the tvs and hang them, wire the surround sound, etc... Never enough!

You know as well as me that the old beast would WHOOP that little Lightning.
I'll be honest with you though, I was actually considering Sonic blue. I know, it goes against all my morals to put a Mustang color on a Camaro, but the color is soooo purtty. In all seriousness, how much do you think it would cost for a full paint job? RCM discount of course.
I'd definitely go for a Viper. My dads been trying to find a 96-2000 GTS. They can be had for $25-30k, but finding one that has a clean history and less than 20k miles is HARD.

Oh, and if you want a Cobra, I know somebody with one waiting to be built. Even has a new old stock 427 side oiler to go in it.

I can cocktail you up a color that will be neither gm nor ford...
I am not too worried about the milage on the viper. Big motor that is realitively unstressed, 8 liters making 500hp, not really pushing hard. If I can find something with 40-50k miles that was garage kept and recently keyed (or scratched or has some cosmetic issues) that would be great.
This car will have a full custom paint job, the black lightning just got boss stripes in pearl blue and a few things shaved.
Not sure what to ask for the lightning. Maybe 16k, it does have 80k miles on it, but is in excellent shape and i take care of all of the wear items like tires and brakes yearly (yes I change tires and brakes that often, just like how fresh rubber sticks and how fresh brakes bite). It has been my daily driver, but only 16k miles in 4+ years. I plan to get a 4dr f250 with a v10 for towing the trailer around and daily driving and keep the viper for a weekend car. Maybe I am getting old, huh. Have not riden the bike in 6 months now, just gave up I guess.

Hmm, what brand kit? I like the factory five as have built a few for customers... Superformance is nice but a bit too pricey for me. Plus a gts viper would be a bit more "practical" for longer trips to the coast.
And I need to hook you up with my buddy, his lightning did 587hp on the rollers.......before the 150 shot of nos... And now he has the killer chiller on there so that must be worth another 50hp or so due to the drastic drop in charge temps. Very mean, makes my truck run and hide.
Must be 60k in that truck, the interior stuff alone must have cost more than 10k. All custom. And he traded a 03 cobra stang for it, straight up. What a douche, right place at the right time.

That would be great! I've been really trying to figure out what I wanna go with though. I was thinking either a hugger orange or some nice yellow for contrast like the calipers and such. Most blues look great with white, but yellow or orange only work with some, so thats the trouble I'm having with making up my mind on the color.
I hear ya...Tires and brakes don't last long with me either, but thats cause I burn em off and wear em out.

Viper -
03.15.2010, 11:33 PM
The Viper is a very unique vehicle for sure. Some do not like them, but I think most of the haters are just bashing it, because they cannot afford something of that caliber. It is what it is, and that is a huge penis machine. That should fit you just fine James . Sorry I could not resist. The Viper is the best of the best. Have you checked out the insurance on those babies? I can only imagine what the operating expenses would be like on that. Gas? Tires? maintenance? Insurance? Weekly tickets? Kind of hard not to let your right foot get lazy and just cruise. Might as well live it up while you can. None of knows when the end will come.
