receiver question -
02.10.2006, 02:22 AM
Hi, I bought a HITEC 3 channel(HFS-03MM) receiver to go with my MX-3 and when I plug in the wire from the EVX (throttle) the motors run wide open no matter witch channel I put it in. What is my problem? Thanks for the help :027:

You may need to program it. If you don't have the owners manual for it, its easy to do. Have your radio on and trims set at 0 the moment you turn on the truck push and hold the program button till you see a red light, grab the radio and pull full throttle, hold till solid green comes on, push full brake till green flashes and release once it flashes red for a few seconds and goes solid red it is programmed. I had the same problem with mine when i went from stock to a JR XS3
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Thanks, I did not know you had to reprogram your EVX when you changed over from AM to FM.

Must be something weird. The JR servo will run on FM right?? I know the servo works because I tried it with the stock AM radio. Someone put a good luck spell on my radio system :037:

Servos don't care about the transmission method of the signal, they just care that they get a periodic set of pulses (50-60Hz) that are "on" between 1ms and 2ms. If the servo is not faulty, the problem almost has to be something wrong in the programming of the transmitter/receiver.
This may sound dumb but make sure you have the steering servo in the steering servo jack. No chance that it's in the CH3 slot?
To see if it's the steering servo itself, put the steering servo jack into the throttle slot. Throttle on the Tx will turn the servo one way, brake/reverse will turn the servo the other way.
