If you can't set to 6amp, just set it as 6000mah batt.

Wow, what a great idea. So when the charger pushes past the 3000mah charge it figures it will be just fine to put another 3000mah in. Poof...

Putting in the correct battery capacity is another safeguard just in case 1 cell dies (or another issue) and the voltage does not continue to rise as the charger expects. Remember that most chargers view the battery as 1 items, not a collection of cells.

If your charger is not capable of 2c charging then it is not capable of 2c charging. Read the manual.
