It doesn't take a genius to figure out you don't need 2700 pages to address the few simple issues that finnster's post suggests the bill addresses.
But hey, the funny thing is that people were up on arms when Bush went on spending sprees, however many of these same people think it's somehow wonderful with Obama. Meanwhile Obama has outpaced Bush's spending in his first year by leaps and bounds. Please be aware this was one of my major points of contention with Bush as well, too much spending, too much deficit, too much debt. Then you have to go back and realize that even the claimed "balanced budget" under Clinton was a farce.
But this is everyone in the US answer to everything, if there is a problem, throw money at it, even if you don't have money. What happens when the US goes bankrupt because it simply cannot honor it's commitments. Seems so big compared to us as individuals but the principals remain the same. The problem is the old saying "the bigger it is the harder it falls" will reign true for this.
Here is a major US corporation telling of the impact this bill will have on them and you. Don't think you won't feel the affect from this giant.

Don't be fooled into thinking this will help small business as well. My partner and I are now having to reanalyze our growth strategy and the possibility of hiring new people. I already get raped by the government having to file a 1099 and it takes every deduction I can use to minimize this and I still get screwed. However I am nowhere near Obama's 250k annual "super rich" mark yet I still pay and will end up paying more. I can tell you I made a damn site less than 250k last year but since I am technically self employed and do contract type work, I get slammed into an even more screwed tax situation.
The worse part is I pay a fortune into taxes while a good friend of ours manages to get twice what she paid in back each year because she makes 30k per year and has two kids. Here child support doesn't even factor in to the equation. I don't begrudge her the money but how the hell is it I pay significantly more in taxes and the government still comes knocking for more.
Oh, and here is our next tax which will affect every working American under the guise of "helping us". This sounds just like social security all over again. We are told of how much revenue it will bring and how it will help us. However how long before congress starts spending from this "fund" just like social security.

So much for only taxing the "super wealthy".......
