lol at chad! Oh and did you notice this nice piece of blue hardware, not to be confused with any blue shipped from hongkong.
Yields about 16 1/2 half minutes full tilt on the track. Perfect for 15minute MT mains bad for truggy mains.

I personally love & prefer my blue LiPos shipped from Hong Kong. I have run the Gł LiPos as well, and they are very nice. The G4s are supposed to be even better at an even lower price, so those might be worth checking out. ProTek makes some awesome LiPos as well, and their prices are pretty good, and getting better as time goes on. ProTek is a great brand, and makes some great products, including the iCharger Series (IE: 208B).
Anyway, I'm not going to turn this into a battery war, we all like what we like, and that's fine.
What I do want to know is what are you going to use the CF for? A new chassis perhaps? An upper deck?

I didn't know G4 were in the works. Interesting. Some CF is already in use for battery trays. Works great! The remainder is for shorter truggy style towers!! With wing mount holes for sure! And If I have enough left over I'll redo the steering plate in CF.
Now Alien this for you, here is my plan: I'm thinking that I'll design the towers on my computer with some basic photoshop then print that out and glue it to my CF then cut out around the paper with a dremel. Sound good? Or not?
My first race ever was in auburn where a guy just gave me these balanced Bowties my next race another guy out of the blue sells me his new holeshots for 20bucks I wasn't even asking about tires. Very excited about everything. My truck is on rails. I still can't drive but I handles just like a new Gen truggy. My transponder fell out on the first lap so it doesn't matter. LOL I really have to get my own.
Oh and this track is less than 20mins from my house so I look to have a full season. This is footage I took as I was getting ready to corner marshall for a guy as he was doing a solo qual. Weird. Any way what do you think of the track? It is almost as hard as concrete and has lots of ruts and bumps. What would be the best tire? Obviously the best tire that I have is the holeshot.

Hey Zack... that sounds like a plan... To Prep the surface for your design... Use masking tape to cover the entire working area on carbon fiber.... Print the design with a laser printer (the ink won't fade or run when it gets wet).... Apply spay adhesive to the back of the design first... then glue it to the masking tape surface...
Now, this is important... Carbon Fiber dust is not something you want have flying all around the room... so I recommend when cutting, wet the carbon first and keep it as wet as possible while you work (this will reduce the dust effect)... Also a well ventilated work space is good... Some face protection is needed... A cutoff wheel will be good for the initial shapes... The detailed stuff can be made with a tungsten carbide cutting bit... A sanding drum and some sanding paper (200 to 600 grit) is always nice to clean up the ruff stuff...
Any reason why you don't want to have the design cut on a CNC?

Great! I can't wait to get started! Thanks for all the advice, I'll follow it to a T.
I don't know if I could get it done on a CNC I'm sure there is at least one in town, but what would they need from me. Are you thinking about making some to match your chassis?

I thought about it before and I was actually talking to my 'bash' friend about it just last week, but I think I like the UE KnuckleHeads enough to keep them for a while longer...
Carbon towers would look real cool on my Maxx though...
Regarding the carbon work... take your time with it... if you rush it, you are more likely to make mistakes...

Hey Zack... I forgot one bit of info... when you are done cutting and sanding... you're going to have to seal the edges with some thin CA...
put some ice in a bowl... place a small plastic spoon or any mini container on top of the ice (the ice will keep the glue cool and slow evaporation,
therefore giving you more time to work)... poor some CA in the spoon/container... use a cotton bud to soak up the glue and quickly apply it
to the edges of the finished shapes... this will reduce the effects of delamination.
