Last part to solve was the wheels. Normal SCT wheels have a terrible offset and this made the truck way too wide. I found out (thanks Matt) that the Proline Protrack Suspension kit had been developed with zero offset wheels. They make the truck exactly the same width as a normal Traxxas 4x4 SCT and also as an added benefit, they make it so the king pin is in proper alignment with the wheel for better suspension geometry/ improved handling. And nothing rubs.

The wheel hexes are wrong for these SC wheels, so I had to also make a set out of stock Traxxas plastic hexes. I just had to drill them out to 6mm from the 5mm they have stock.
