My personal favorite steering servo right now is the DS1015 (Ace, Associated XP, or Thunder Tiger version) with 201.4 oz/in of torque @ .108 seconds. Honestly, 200 oz/in of torque is more than enough for any buggy or truggy, any Maxx or Revo, and any monster truck that weighs less than 15lbs.

I know a lot of people like to buy these 300-400+ oz/in servos, but they are just not needed, and are extreme overkill in my opinion. The only time you need that much steering power is when you have it installed on a large-tire rock-crawler that gets the tires wedged between rocks pretty often, and you need all that power to either move the rock(s) with the steering or use the steering to unwedge the tires in some other way.

One of my other favorite servos is the TowerPro MG995 (real ones, not knock-offs) with 208 oz/in of torque @ .13 seconds, and they are only $8-$12 brand-new! Plus, they are digital!!! I have 11 of them, some in various vehicles, and the rest waiting to be used in other various projects...they are awesome servos, and I have never had a problem with any of them! The new TowerPro MG996 is even better, with slightly more torque and speed, but at the same price.

Now, some of you will call the MG995 junk, but that's most likely because you got ahold of one of the many knock-off versions, which don't center very well. If you get the *real* TowerPro MG995, which is based off of the JR servo, you will be very impressed! If you don't know if you have a real TowerPro MG995 or not, just open up the case and look inside the bottom cover...if it's real, it will have TowerPro printed/molded there. If you don't see that, it's a fake.

Edit: I also have a ton of Hitec HS-645MG and HS-625MG servos laying around as well, probably 25 combined...they were the shit back in the early T-Maxx/E-Maxx days, and still work great for all kinds of scales and projects!

They are all over eBay...you can buy a single servo, or packs of servos, ranging from 2 servos to 20 servos!

eBay: TowerPro MG995

eBay: TowerPro MG996

eBay: TowerPro MG99R
