skellyo,
how do you like that crossbrace tread? i havent tried it yet but it seems like it would be a good tread for the track i race on. the best tires for my track are calibers, bowties, goosebumps, cityblocks, and ibeams...and enduros as i found out this week. do they perform similar to these?

Haven't run them yet actually. I'm a slacker and still don't have my Slashes up and going.

I'm thinking of trying those Enduros out as well. I would like to get the Enduro/AKA wheel combo. I run on a red clay, hard pack track and I'm currently running Crimefighter M3's. Calibers do well on the track also.

my track is also red clay. hard packed but loamy on edges. if the calibers do well then you will like the enduros too. i am not sure that they are better but definitely do a great job. my plan was to run enduros on the AKA wheels too but got sick of waiting hence the proline and odonnell wheels in the pics.

hey skellyo, what kind of slashes do you have that are waiting to be built? any special plans for them?

Ryu- I see you run 3s. How's the power delivery? We are limited to running 2s, hence the 1509/1Y (3600kv) I'm running. I'm almost having problems with the tires blowing loose. I have some punch control set and have to gentle with the finger at times. I'm wondering if the Enduros will help with traction in a soft/supersoft compound.

i think you always have to use throttle control to prevent spin out. i prefer having more power on tap rather than have the trigger pinned the entire race. some prefer it to have to not use finger input though. honestly though my 2700kv on 3s is not that fast. maybe 40mph. i am geared 15/53. its def faster than stock but not some crazy 60mph slash. if your tires can cut loose now i dont think any tread will prevent that. tires can increase the point at which they do cut loose but if you have enough power to do it now you always will regardless of how sticky the tires. my thoughts anyway. but i have heard the new supersoft compound is the shiznit! thats going to be my next set. i run soft right now.

Sick slash man, definately looks race ready. My local track has a growing 4x4 SC scene so I will be setting one up for track duty also.

Kind of off topic question, but what is the OD of 1/8th buggy wheels like those sick AKA's?

i am not sure the exact diameter but i know they are slightly larger than SC tires. i will have to put the calipers to them tomorrow and see.

btw, if you are going to pick up a 4wd SC i would seriously look at the Jammin SCRT 10. i wish i had seen it before buying my slash. my slash does great but i hate how the motor/center diff assembly is put together. it is the biggest pain in the ass to get the motor out if needed. aside from that the jammin has aluminum chassis, steel cvd's, and overall is built more like a 1/8 buggy layout. i have yet to drive one but just based on layout i would say it could be setup to far outperform the slash. you should check them out and also the Ofna Hyper SC 10 looks pretty sweet.

thank you! it is a great track this year, especially for short course. it looks bigger in the pics than it really is. its a very tight track and a blast to race on. unfortunately they havent been running any 1/8 classes this season as 1/8 drivers arent coming out since the track is catered more for 1/10 and short course.

a few minutes away though a new 1/8 track is being built and it is very large. cannot wait for that one!

Ryu- If you are still looking for the AKA Pro 5 wheels, give these guys a shout:

http://www.shopnorcalhobbies.com/

They had a couple sets on hand. I gave them a shot and they came through. They look great with the AKA Cross Brace tires! I'll be trying them out tomorrow!
