Sorry guys, I'm in the middle of a couple of designs right now- - I'll give this some thought when I have a chance.

Thanx!

Hopefully, one of those designs is the final design for the 12S car ESC!

I had a thought on this for Patrick. Maybe to better understand you could check out a local comp with all the free time you have.

Seriously though, I think it would give you a much better perspective on the market and why something like this is needed. Just get a dump truck full of rocks dropped off at the new plant and buy some crawlers and check it out.

You have the capabilities and boards to be able to combine a CC BEC Pro with 2 MM Pro or BR-XL boards...

You could then bridge the two brain boards so that you have the option of:

- Operating the two boards fully indepently for people using 4 or 6 channel radios
- Operating the boards linked where both take throttle signals etc from 1 RX wire and the second RX wire plugs into the Aux to control dig/burn/4x4 ie just uses the 3pos switch to disable/sets to neutral the throttle input to one ESC.

This would provide the ultimate crawling esc for MOA rigs... I hope you guys were watching but Axial just released an MOA kits. This means Losi isn't going to be far behind offering an MOA conversion...

Everyones going to be looking for an ESC that does this... Happy as always to Beta

The Novak M2 will actually be close to this but I havn't seen Novak have the software to match CC and I'm sure the BEC will be not be enough and the SC will max out at 3s...

Thanks for listening...

Cheers
OK -- how about:

A separate board that would:

link two Mamba Pros together, combining the BEC outputs (doubling the BEC) and acting as a throttle mixer for the two MMPs...

We already have the software for RX channel mixing available (we wrote it a few years ago for the Berg receivers) so it would require hardware and just a little bit of development.

This would be much simpler than designing a double ESC.

Feel free to give me a call to discuss but not sure that this will differentiate that much from the Novak dig unit - I use one and it works quite well but can glitch when switching modes sometimes.

I'm not sure its worth your development time to do just this...For $20 the novak unit it does what it needs to do...

However if you wanted to try this as a beta of creating a combined ESC that could work - i.e. I could try de-casing a couple of MMP's, a bec and this unit into a single package - That would be good and then look at simplifiying packaging if it works well...

Sorry but the internal bec's just don;t seem to cut it in crawler use - It might get better if two were linked but the CCBEC works best with the voltage adjustability and high amp support...

agreed a single package is the important part, there are already afew company's that make units that let you use 2 esc with dig and so forth but alot of us dont have room for 1 mmp much 2 and an accessory board

keep in mind alot of people use the mamba 25 as an esc, we dont pull alot of amps and normally get 45min run time on just 1600mah

one thing that would be great would be if the esc could handle 4 cell, im sure novaks will only support 2 cell

Space is another issue here. Two MMP's would take up too much real estate in an already strapped crawler. The thing is that the motor current in crawlers is relatively low compared to what people put monster trucks, buggies, and truggies through. I would have to believe that the BEC issue has to do with the fact that many people use the strongest servos they can and you get a lot of stall current (maybe incorrect term) when up against rocks and trying to turn.

Like Arct1k said maybe a jaunt over to www.rccrawler.com and ask for input would be helpful. Many over there already support CC so you wouldn't be going into the lion's den so to speak.

Honestly you may could get away with a dual Micro Mamba setup with a shared brain. I really don't think the systems would require more peak amps than what it provides. Seeing as most people in the crawler world run 55t motors as the standard you can see what I mean.
