I've been running 14 cell nimh on my MMM for over 6 months with no problem. They're only Traxxas NiMh packs to boot. But I am experienced enought to gear it reasonably. This is in my E-Maxx geared for about 30. The MMM is also coated in liw=quid electric tape to make it water proof, or at least more water resistant. My fan still works as it comes on at startup but thats the only time it ever comes on, even after 1/2 hour of continous running

My point was leaning more to the mere mention of nicads. Like you said, you know how to gear conservatively with your nimhs, but how many noobs even understand what changing ratios actually does?

How about that guy that had an original EMaxx back in the day and it "ran great on 2 Piranha 1500 nicads", he would probably pull out the same 1500s from 1999 and see no issue with hooking them up to an MMM.

I'm assuming you're using the Traxxas packs that came with your truck. And that brings up another problem, the fact that Traxxas decided to include packs that should not be used in the BL edition truck >unless the user has a clue<. You see where I'm going with this, like a Supercar dealer giving the buyer a "free tankful" of 86 octane with his high-octane-required vehicle.

And really Joe, you race--- what the hell are you doing with nimhs? :)

I have the set of NiMh that came with a brushed E-Maxx and I have a set of the higher capacity series 4 traxxas packs. Only reason I have NiMh packs is that they perform alot better than Lipos do in freezing temperatures and I feel better about covering them in snow and mud
