Here's a thought. What if homosexuality is one way nature tries to curb population? Then it would make sense that the closer a species come to exhausting resources etc, the more homosexuality shows up. In addition, it is a FACT that some humans are born with both genitals as well as other more universally acceptable deformities. So in my logic if the organs can get messed up, why not the brain. I do believe that environment and personal choice account for some also.

My philosophy: most people if not all are products of to whom and where they were born. You're a Christian because your mom and dad were. You didn't sample all religions and then made an intelligent choice. You are uncomfortable with gays and blacks because your parents and/or social network are that way. Most everything a person does in his or her's life was predicated by their ancestry and local environment. Reason and logic for the most part did not come into play.

As for gays in the military and as a former serviceman, I say let them serve openly under the same rules as hets, but make allowances for housing separately if someone so desires.
I would rather a child be raised with love and understanding by a gay couple (even if turns out gay) than one who is abused by a heterosexual family or is living in an orphanage.

Hmm, interesting thoughts. On the brain, totally the brain can get messed up, but whether it is from a biological defect or a defect of psychological conditioning remains on heated debate everywhere. Personally, I think it is 95% psychological influences rather than the brain being the influential cause itself. The brain is incredibly plastic in nature, and can be formed and transformed and can rearrange it's processes in almost unbelievable ways. People that have had a disorder (caused by brain) or brain damage, having half their brain, or parts of their brain removed by surgery, with processes known to be solely happening in one part of the brain (emotion, logic, etc) can be created in another part of the brain that is/was meant for something else entirely, all brought to you by choice. It is known in brain science that we literally create our and mold our brain, and not the traditional presumption that our brain create who we are. That is something to think about. Who is the brain, and who are we?

Worth remmbering that tere are both masculine and effeminate homosexuals, just as there are with straight guys- the level of screwed up-ness in the brain isnt clear cut ( if that were the cause shall we say... ).

Remember survival of the fittest? What ever happened to that one? Though if that were still around I probably wouldn't exist. Survival in today's world has done away with the fit and opened the door for the success of many traits, including those which we all know would never survive about 300-400 years ago.
