Motor for Revo Conversion: 2200 or 1800? -

Hello,
I'm about to buy a CC-Neu motor for my Revo conversion and I'm hesitating between these two models (2200 or 1800) for mostly bashing purposes.
I'm looking for efficiency, low heat and as little strain as possible on the ESC (MMM) and the Lipo. I'd much rather have a rock solid set-up than a high performer.
What voltage do you plan on running? I think that on 5s the 1518 1800kv would be a killer setup, would prolly do ok on 4s as well but would need to be greared up, and would be awesome on 6s. The 1515 2200kv will do fine on anything from 4s-6s as well but IMO is better suited to 4s. the 1518 if geared for the same speed should always run cooler though
It may be too long though, thats the only issue really with the revo chassis ( depends on how you do the conversions exactly/ motor mount ). I'd go 1518 1800kv for 5s use though, its a real beast in my txt-1 and thats alot heavier than the revo will likely be when finished.
there is no reason to get more than a 2200 in a standard mt. in my savage flux, my 2200 motor rarely goes above 100f in 85f ambient temps on 4s. it is geared for 40mph on 4s, and even on 6s geared for over 60mph, it rarely goes above 120F.
even when i added a ton of weight and huuuge tires to my flux, the motor didn't get hotter than 110f on 4s geared for 45mph. (it weighed 17lbs)
motors run cooler in MTs than buggies and truggies because there is no center diff and they are higher off the ground. you cannot plant as much power to the ground with a MT. even a 60mm medusa motor would be fine as long as you are sensible with the gearing.
long story short, get the 2200.
They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
Hum, maybe OK for the center diif, that keeps you to push too hard the throttle. But you forgot the tires, larger, more resistance to the ground, the air resistance at high speed...
110F by 85F with a 17lbs truck with the 1515/1Y isn't possible lol, unless you are driving very very calm... Aren't you exagerating the number lol ?
My 1520/1Y in my 11lbs MBX5T (truggy) geared for 45-50mph on 6S hits 120-130F on the rear black plate by 75F ambient, and some people where I live find it quite cool. I find it cool too by the way :D
