My son has always said he wanted a boat, but it has always been too expensive to get one with any kind of performance.

This looks like just the ticket.

Guys that motor will just be a feigao 540 XL would be my guess - I wouldn't get hung up about it.

Feigao make the VXL motor so not a huge leap looking at it that they are making this one to...

11XL would be my guess- 1600kv according to the spec on the trx website, 11XL is listed as ~1588kv on the feigao website. Seems like a good choice for 6s use though, keeping the total rpms at a reasonable level to avoid burning up the motor. Castle now have it listed at their 'low price' of $389, which is pretty darned good- wonder what it'll cost in UK shops... ( more like £389 as per usual )

Funny thing is that the Feigao motors run pretty decently in boats compared to on land vehicles. Not sure why.
Same thing with the Feigao 580L series, the boat guys like them where as they didn't do much in the land application.

I think this will be a very nice boat. And not to mention it will have Traxxas warranty which is been on par with Castle and Tekin warranties in my experiences.

I will definitely be selling off some stuff to get one of these. I plan on spending a lot of time by the Marina where I am moving to. Having a boat as well as a bunch of sand tires for a few choice vehicles may turn me into Mr. Hasselhoff. However I may need to invest in a dingy or something, swimming in this Marina, formerly a drainage pit, is an at your own risk type thing.

Really? You don't think it has to do with feigaos inefficiency(waste heat) and the water cooling that boats have

Not argueing but Fieago motors are pressed correct ?
The TRX motor has tiny screws holding endbells on just like the 540 3500kv jobbers.

yeah, traxxas might have some pretty wires or little screws added, but inside the can it's all feigao. Fei Gao. It means "fly high" in whatever language it's in.

That is correct Harold! I award you 10 points, which may be redeemed at your local strip joint.

Either way its going to do fairly well. Steven, the owner of Offshore Electrics, said that a Traxxas employee has bought an extensive amount of supplies from him over a nice period of time. Assuming all they bought, he suggested they did a great deal of testing on this boat.

And either way, if it blows, Traxxas will warranty it!

I am seriously thinking this could be my fathers day present, obviously with a belated delivery............

The more I look, the more I like. There are several places near me that will work well including a local park with a rather nice 4 acre pond.

Well, I just gave my-self a B-day prsent and backed orderd the new Traxxas Titan boat. I got a good deal, $324.99 (Tower discount and free shipping) to my door and if I sell the crapy included batterys I should be under $300.00I have not had a RC boat for a few years so I am looking forward to it

I like the traxxas boat, looks cool.

As far as feigaos go they do work in a boat due to water cooling but will not be as effecient as a better motor, so you will need a larger battery to get the same runtimes.

Can't wait for a good cheap HV boat esc, as I have a 1527 2y that I would like to run on 10-12s in a 32" boat....
