Has anyone tried this? I spent a buttload of money upgrading everything on my e-savage to metal and now the trans cant handle it. I see no other offerings from any other company for an e-savage trans solution either?

All metal equals heavy truck, heavy trucks equals more drivetrain stress.

No one on here is to fond of anything kershaw puts out. It's all pretty junky hack job products IMO.

The problem is that the e-sav was never really built to handle more weight or power than stock. There have always been issued with it especially the diffs.

My diffs are rock solid. I have the gcm twin diffs for it.

well, the same style kershaw transmission has proven weak and a waste of money in a savage. I don't think the slight weight reduction of the e-savage is enough to make this transmission a viable option.

Go to e-savage.com and ask around there. There are a few members that have converted to an all-metal tranny using gears from other vehicles. You should be able to find all you need there.
I've only had experience with Kershaw's diff shims for the e-sav and while it was fine, he ripped me off on it, so I can't recommend him due to his business practices. Sadly, there are many that continue to buy from him.

I have had a forum account for over a year at e-savage.com but am unable to post or reply so that's not an option. I sent an email to the admin and never heard back.

you could use an RCM center diff mount and put in a center diff.

You can send me a nice model of what you want, or a clear print, and I can cnc it for you....

Im currently working on some sick motor mounts, I will post pics if the customer lets meh...

Using a 3905 trans sounds awesome but I couldnt find any info anywhere on the interent about that working or how to do it? I might try to tackle the metal gear mod thats on e-savage.com For now I just geared down a little and loosened the slipper a tad and its not clicking so much now.

Some L shaped brackets & a little imagination is all that requiredt o fit a different tranny to any vehicle, assuming theres enough room for it & all the other gubbins. I stuck a 3905 tranny in my TXT-1, so it shouldnt be too difficult, justs needs some careful measuring and some basic metal working hand tools.

I wish I knew if the 3905 trans will fit width wise between the rails of the e-savage frame. If it does then I could rig something up. I dont want to pay $45 for one to find out it wont fit though. I think the gear ratio is close on the two also.

Here are some rough measurements for you- didnt fancy removing the tranny as its well buried andnot an easy thing to take out without dismantling the whole truck:-

6cm wide, 9cm long ( front to back including slipper ) and 7cm tall ( not including motor mounting plate ).

Should give you a rough idea of whether it will fit easily or not, but I reckon it would- mounting tabs either side are about half way up.
